Nutrition consultation FAQ
Nutrition consultation questions, answered
These are the questions we hear most often about registering and preparing for an online consultation. If yours is not here, send it through the contact page and we will answer directly.
What this page covers
Registration, session formats, and what to have ready before your first call. Each answer is written for a household cooking in Jakarta, not a textbook, and we say so when a question belongs with another professional.
Before you register
You do not need a specific goal to register, but having one helps. Most people arrive wanting to improve their daily eating, plan family meals, or get support at a particular life stage. Write down what you are after in plain words. That is the only thing the form asks for, and it takes about a minute.
If you are unsure how to phrase it, a sentence like "our dinners are rushed and I want them more balanced" is more useful than any number you could look up. Vague is fine; we will narrow it together.
What the sign-up asks for
- Your goal in your own words One or two sentences is plenty. There is no wrong way to write it.
- Who you are planning for Just you, a partner, or a whole household. It changes how we build the plan.
- The format you prefer Chat, voice call, or video. You can change it later between sessions.
- A contact email and phone We use it to confirm your slot and nothing else.
Allergies, foods you avoid, and who does the cooking are welcome here too, but you can also bring those to the session itself.
Go to registrationPreparing for your first session
Four things happen in order. Nothing here is complicated, and none of it needs special equipment.
During the session
Sessions are a conversation, not a lecture. The dietitian asks about your routine and works with you on a plan. You can ask anything within the scope of nutrition support. If a question falls outside that, we will tell you honestly rather than guess.
There is no script. If you get stuck mid-sentence, that is normal, and the dietitian will help you get to the point.
What to prepare
A rough note of what you ate for a few days, your usual meal times, who cooks, and any allergies or preferences. That is enough. If you track measurements, have them handy.
- Three days of rough notes, not a perfect food diary
- Your usual meal times, including the ones that get skipped
- Who shops and who cooks on a normal weekday
- Foods you avoid, and whether that is preference or something your household follows
After the session
You receive a written meal plan and guidance on what to track. Follow-up keeps the plan current as your routine changes. You decide how much ongoing support you want; there is no pressure to continue beyond what is useful.
Plenty of people come back once or twice a year around a move, a new job, or a change in the household. That rhythm works.
Choosing a format
You can pick chat, voice call, or video, and switch between sessions. The nutrition guidance is the same whichever you choose. Pick whatever lets you explain your situation comfortably.
- Chat Good when you think slowly, want to look things up, or are writing between work tasks.
- Voice call Easiest from a car, a kitchen, or a shared room where a screen would be awkward.
- Video Useful when you want to show a plate, a packet, or the way something is normally cooked at home.
Switching mid-way through a series is fine. Plenty of people start in chat and move to a call once they know what they want to cover.
A normal weeknight table is the best thing to describe in a session.
Questions people ask us most
Short answers below. If your situation needs more room than a paragraph, the contact page reaches a person who can reply in detail.
How is a registered dietitian different from a general nutrition consultant?
A registered dietitian in Indonesia completes formal nutrition training and a registration pathway. That background means specific, grounded guidance rather than general lifestyle tips. You get someone who can explain why a portion, a timing, or a swap fits your week instead of handing you a list.
What can I discuss in an online nutrition session?
Daily eating patterns, meal planning, portions, family meals, and nutrition at different life stages. It stays within nutrition support, and we will say so if a question needs another kind of professional. That boundary is there so you get an honest answer rather than a guess from the wrong desk.
How do you organise advice for children, adults, pregnancy, and older age groups?
We match you with a dietitian suited to your stage of life, so the plan reflects the needs of that group rather than a generic template. A plan for a school-age child, for example, gets shaped around what that child will actually eat at home and at school, not around an adult portion chart.
What makes a meal plan practical for everyday eating?
It is built around food your household already eats, with adjustments to portions and timing. You get concrete choices, not a new cuisine to learn. If a plan would need an ingredient nobody in your house buys, it is the wrong plan for you.
Still unsure which format suits you?
Tell us how you usually talk through a problem and we will suggest one. You can also read the full walkthrough of how an online consultation runs before you decide.
Still have a question?
Send it through the contact page and we will answer directly, usually within one working day. Questions about registering, what to bring to a session, how plans work for a household, or which format suits a specific situation are all fair game. If we are not the right place to answer, we will say that too.
Consultations run Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Jakarta time. Booking a slot happens through the same contact page, so you can ask and register in one message.
